Mini Marathon

On the 26th April, North Beckton, alongside other schools in the Trust, had the fantastic opportunity to take part in the Mini London Marathon. 40 of our children made the journey on Saturday 26th April to Horse Guards' Parade to run either 2.6km or 1 mile. 15 of our children completed the 2.6km race at 10:23am and 25 children completed the 1-mile race at 2:25pm.

The children prepared for their races in their wave pens, where they were warmed up by Joe Wicks. They were then escorted to the start line where all of their hard work and practice had led them to. At the sound of the klaxon, they were off!

Running around St. James' Park, Birdcage Walk and finishing on the Mall in front of Buckingham Palace, the children had an experience like no other. As they crossed the finish line, they were greeted with a shiny gold medal, commemorating 40 years of the Mini London Marathon.

A HUGE well done and congratulations to ALL the children that completed the Mini London Marathon and a HUGE thank you to all the staff that attended, organised and even ran with the children
