How we assess
Each term, children sit NFER (National Foundation for Educational Research) tests in reading and maths. These summative assessments give us a clear picture of each child’s learning and development.
Teachers combine these results with what they see in class every day to make well-rounded judgements about each child’s progress. This helps us understand how securely children are grasping key concepts and where they may need extra support.
We share teachers’ judgements with parents three times a year, so you can follow your child’s progress throughout the year.
Statutory assessment results
We are very proud of our children’s achievements. Full details of our results, including comparisons with local and national figures, are available on the DfE school performance tables for North Beckton.
